God is all about relationships. That's why He created us. Why He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us. Why the Holy Spirit is our teacher and comforter. Why He strengthens our weaknesses. He has a lot to say about how we treat one another as well as our relationship with Him.
God made us all different, we are not supposed be carbon copies of anyone else. Just like no two snowflakes are alike, you are meant to be the only you. With some people we know, we shout Hallelujah! While others it wouldn't be that bad if there were more of them. :)
I have a notebook that I jot ideas in and I have a couple of designs that would make a great t-shirts. One day! I was looking through that notebook and found that I had written out an acronym for the word authentic.
When we are authentic we are:
Awesome Psalm 139:14: "I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works
are wonderful, I know that full well." If God works are wonderful and He
made you...you are wonderfully awesome! Do you really know that?!?
United Colossians 2:2: "My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so
that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that
they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ." Unity brings
accountablity and protection.
True 1 Peter 1:7 "These have come so that faith ~ of greater worth than gold, which perishes
even though refined with fire ~ may be proven genuine and may result in
praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." Our faith is proven
true and genuine as we walk through our trials, knowing they are temporary
and heaven is waiting for us.
Hospitable Romans 12:13: "Share with God's people who are in need. Practice Hospitality."
2 Timothy 1:16: "May the Lord show mercy to the household Onesiphorus, because he
often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains." Enough said!
Eternal Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
our Lord." We deserve death, but have life through Jesus!
Noble Romans 8:17: "Now if we are children, then we are heirs ~ heirs of God and co-heirs with
Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share
in his glory."
Galatians 3:26: "You are all sons of God through faith in God." You are a child of the King
of Kings!!
Teachable Proverbs 4:13: "Hold onto instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life."
Proverbs. 8:33: "Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it." We don't have all
the answers and we need God's wisdom for this crazy life!
Intergrity Psalm 41:12: "In my intergrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever."
1 Chron. 29:17: "I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with intergity. All
these things I have given willingly and with honest intent." We need to
keep our word and honor God with all we do and say.
Compassion 1 Peter 3:8: "Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love
as brothers, be compassionate and humble."
Colossians 3:12: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe
yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
Doesn't sound like it's an option...
You are the only you and God has something very special for you. I am not called to your walk and you are not called to mine. Let's be authentic to who we are and love from a place of wholeness.
